Saint Clare of Assisi
The St Clare's parish is named after the patron saint, St Clare. She gave up her noble's life to follow the Lord after hearing St Francis of Assisi's preaching. She later on founded the order of Poor Ladies, or Clares, serving the poor. When you enter the church, you will find her statue on your right hand side. On the left hand side is the statue of St Francis of Assisi. Her picture is on the middle of the stained glass at the front of the church. Did you know that she is also known as the patron saint of sore eyes? Her detailed story can be found here. |
