Our community (SJCCC) has been supporting ACS-Chinese unit Relay For Life since beginning (1999).

Our council meeting in March has decided to support it again this year. We have registered two teams, one is for WaterMark Youth, the other is for SJCCC adult, We hope you would join us in this event and support fund raising activity from our youth.(refer to the appealing letter in the back)

Date: June 26, Saturday
Location: James Logan High School in Union City.

The following is the schedule for Relay for Life event.
Basically our team will at least attend the 12pm to 3:30pm sessions.

12:00 noon: Registration 隊伍報到
1:00 pm: Opening Ceremony 開幕典禮
2:00 pm: Relay Starts 接力開始
3:30 pm: Mission Delivery Games 防癌教育；Entertainment (I) 餘興節目(一)
6:00pm: Dinner 晚餐
7:00pm: Entertainment (II) 餘興節目(二)
10:00pm: Luminary Ceremony 燭光禮贊
10:30pm: Fight Back Ceremony 奮戰不懈
6/26 11:00pm to 6/27 7:00am: Overnight Relay 通宵義走

Letter from Youth Leader : Pio Tsai

I am working as a leader of LeadToServe which is a service group in our SJCCC Watermark Youth Group. For this past year, I have been deeply involved with this group and I am now leading the Relay for Life project with the American Cancer Society.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones, and fight against the disease.

The American Cancer Society dedicates itself to the fight against cancer. Funding research and helping find major cancer breakthroughs, ACS chooses to make a difference and help those that need it. Through your donations of any size, you may help further developments and save lives.

On June 26th, I am bringing LeadToServe to the Relay For Life event. We will take turns walking or running around the track in order to symbolize the continuous efforts to fight cancer. I would like to invite you to join us through prayers and financial support. Your contribution, at any amount will bring us closer to the goal of $1,500. Please make your check payable to American Cancer Society (donations over $25 receive a receipt that you can deduct from your taxes) and mail it to the address below by June 18. Thank you for your generosity.
